2. [Optional] Set Replacement Mode
The Replacement Mode may be cycled by pressing the F2 button on a Philips or Olympus handset, or pressing the Replacement Mode Hotkey. The mode determines which terminology and amendments are performed by the Comprehension Engine®. If no mode is selected, the Comprehension Engine® will return text as spoken without Comprehension Engine® adjustments.

The available modes will vary according to the User's Team. A description of the current mode will appear as a tooltip when hovering the mouse over the mode icon.

Tips for Recording

  • Record using your natural speaking voice.
  • Record using full sentences. Word recognition uses adjacent words to determine the best hypothesis of the dictation.
  • If using a handheld microphone, hold the device at the recommended distance (approx 5 - 10cm). Speak over, rather than into, the microphone grille.
  • If supported, enable noise cancelling or speech recognition mode on the device.
  • Reduce background noise. Whilst a silent environment is not necessary, accuracy will be improved by removing continuous sources of background noise such as desk fans or radios.
