Authors may import audio files using the Import button. The jobs created by importing audio files will be automatically progressed to the next adjacent workflow step of their chosen workflow.
Select the audio file(s)
Users can click the Browse button to open a file explorer window. To select files to import, users should navigate to the folder containing the files, and select the audio file(s) that are required. Users can select multiple files by holding the Ctrl key. Click Open to begin importing the selected files.
Lexacom supports the import of .MP3, .WAV, and .DSS and .DS2 files created with compatible Olympus and Philips devices.
If required, users can deselect files from being imported by toggling the checkmark. Unchecked files will not be imported when the user clicks Import, but will remain in the window to be imported.
The remove file button allows the user to remove the selected file from the list of files to be imported. This does not erase the file from the original location and the user may browse to select the file again if required.
If Keep Files after Importing is ticked the selected files will be retained on the device after importing. If this is unticked, the selected files will be erased from the device (including the user's local files) after importing.
! If files are erased from the device after importing, they cannot be recovered - this should only be unticked where removing the files automatically from the device is desirable (e.g. importing from a digital voice recorder).
Users can click the Import button to import the selected files.
Lexacom will create a job for each selected file. The job will be saved and automatically progressed to the next adjacent step of the selected workflow. If 'Keep files after importing?' was unchecked, the selected original files will be erased from the device or folder.
