The Echo tab allows the user to set the settings related to Echo, including their listen and Comprehension Engine® hotkeys, and how their transcription is returned.

1. Words appear letter-by-letter switch
The Words appear letter-by-letter switch controls whether text is returned in blocks, or as a series of individual letters. The different modes may work better in different applications.

Hold transcription switch

2. Hold transcription switch
The Hold transcription until recording stopped switch controls whether text is returned continuously, or only returned when recording is stopped.
 
If not enabled, fragments of the transcription will be returned continuously whilst the user records.

If enabled, transcription will be held until the user stops the recording.
 
If this is enabled, Words appear letter-by-letter must also be enabled.

Proofreading switch

3. Proofreading switch
The Use Comprehension Engine® to proofread my transcriptions switch controls whether the returned transcription is passed through Comprehension Engine® proofreading when this is returned.
 
If not enabled, only the terminology and amendments of the current Comprehension Engine® Mode will be applied.
 
If enabled, Comprehension Engine® will proofread the transcription to correct basic grammar and punctuation errors.
